The launch day is the official kick-off of the fellowship programme. This will allow the fellows to discuss with the OTH what they hope to achieve from the fellowship.
The General Practice Fellowship scheme provides a 2 year programme of support and career development opportunities (including one session per week pro rata of CPD with backfill payment to the practice) for newly qualified GPs and Nurses who take up substantive roles in practices.
The shared intention of NHS England and NHS Improvement, the BMA and RCGP is for this to be available to all GPs and Nurses on completion of their training from 2021.
The Oxfordshire Training Hub is coordinating the first wave of the Fellowships in Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West (BOB). Applications are invited by 27th March 2020 for GPs and Nurses who have qualified since November 2018. The start date for successful applicants for the current intake is May 2020. It is open to GPs and Nurses who are already in a salaried post but want to benefit from the programme of support if they wish to do this as an additional session. More details about the scheme are available in the information pack attached.
We are also gathering a list of interested practices to match with prospective General Practice Fellows who are not currently in a substantive post but are thinking about it so they can participate in the Fellowship scheme. Your training practices might be interested in registering any vacancies they have with us.
