This course is for those new to giving injections and will prepare you to give injections. It is suitable for Health Care Support Workers (HCSW’s), new to giving injections and AHP’s new to giving injections. Pharmacists may attend if they need a face-to-face update on injection technique.
We will cover how to give an injection with practical training and will cover the responsibilities of the clinician, safety, cold chain and overview of vaccines. The course will also cover flu, pneumovax, shingles and B12 administration.
This is a 2 day course and both dates must be attended. The first session will be virtual, which will be held on Teams and the second session is face-to-face (venue details below).
Day 2: 13th August 2022
Venue: Thatcham Catholic Hall, 7 Bath Road, Thatcham, RG18 3AG
Please note: This course is not an immunisation update; a course for nurses to give child immunisations, or a Covid 19 vaccination training course.
We will be doing a practical session on administering injections, so you will get chance to practice your technique. There will also be a short multiple choice question exercise (MCQ) at the end of the session.
